Is IVF painful?
IVF treatment involves daily injections for 8-10 days which are delivered subcutaneously through very fine needle hence less painful. Egg retrieval process is done under short anesthesia. Embryo transfer is a painless procedure and takes around 5-10 minutes.
How much time IVF procedure takes?
IVF cycle may take 2 weeks from start of your menses. Sometimes when embryo transfer is postponed to next cycle, it may take 4-6 weeks.
What is the cost of IVF?
The cost of IVF treatment depends upon the type of IVF treatment patient may need. Actual cost is decided after the infertility workup of couple is done. On an average IVF cycle may cost from 1,50,000-2,00,000 INR per cycle.
What is the success rate of IVF?
Success rate of IVF depends upon age of women, duration and type of infertility, the number and quality of embryos formed in IVF cycle. DREAMZ IVF has a success rate of 70-80%. We are continuously updating ourselves with latest literature and technology to improve IVF success further.
Do I need bed rest after IVF?
We advise 3 days of home rest after embryo transfer. Thereafter you can resume your normal schedule. Avoid sexual activity, strenuous exercise, heavy weight lifting and long distance travel.
What diet should be followed while going through IVF?
Taking healthy balanced diet is all what you need post IVF. Diet with adequate liquids, proteins and antioxidants is recommended. Avoid unhygienic food and junk calories.
What are the side effects of IVF?
IVF is generally a safe procedure. However some patients may have ovarian hyper stimulation (especially PCOS), multiple pregnancies, bleeding and spotting during pregnancy.
Is there any age limit for IVF?
As per the ART Act 2021, there is age limit to avail ART services in India. Now a woman between 21-50 years & a man between 21-55 years can go through IVF.
Are IVF babies normal?
IVF babies are as normal as babies conceived through natural conception. There are enough studies to say that there is no increased risk of congenital malformation or abortion in IVF pregnancies in comparison to natural pregnancy.
What are the chances of having twins in IVF?
Normally at the time of embryo transfer, we put 2-3 good quality embryos in the uterus. Hence in IVF there is higher chance of having twins up to 25%. It can be easily controlled by reducing the number of embryos transferred.
IVF babies are delivered through cesarean only?
It is a complete myth. IVF pregnancies continue as natural pregnancies. The indications for cesarean are same as for a normal pregnancy; IVF per se does not necessitate delivery through cesarean.
IVF is the last option?
For some couples yes, but first for many. IVF may be first option in women with blocked fallopian tubes, advanced age, severe endometriosis and in males with very low sperm count.
How many times IVF can be done?
There is no upper limit to the number of IVF attempts. As IVF treatment is financially and emotionally exhausting, it completely depends on the couple’s ability to handle the expenses and stress.
If one IVF failed, do we need a break before starting it again?
If an IVF cycle fails, our team of specialists goes through all your records to find out possible reason of failure. We may need to carry out certain tests or interventions to improve the chances of conception in the next IVF cycle. This may take 1-2 months.
What is SET?
SET means single embryo transfer. To completely avoid the risk of multiple pregnancies a single best embryo is transferred.
